Darol Rodrock Foundation Celebrates 36 Youth at Annual Graduation Picnic
On Saturday, April 27, 2019, The Darol Rodrock Foundation partnered with Kansas Kids @ Gear-Up and JCYM to celebrate 36 “aging out*” foster youth who recently learned their high school diplomas!
The day included a picnic, heartfelt words from Darol, and a personalized photo shoot for each student. It was fun and inspirational for all involved!
Congratulations to Graduates!
These Kansas City metro youth overcame many challenges to graduate this year In fact, some even attended multiple different high schools during their educational careers. But despite it all, they remained dedicated to their education. We wish them infinite success as they embark on their new journey.
During the celebration, Darol offered his personal congratulations and encouraged the students to continue to work toward their goals, “You write the next chapter of your life. Think carefully about what you want it to say.”
Many Thanks to Our Wonderful Partners!
The Darol Rodrock Foundation is grateful for the help and partnership of Kansas Kids @ Gear-Up and JCYM for making this day so special for these youth.
We also extend a special thanks to photographers Cindy Fox and her daughter Zabrina for giving each youth a personalized photo shoot to capture their senior year.
*The term “aging out” refers to a person in the foster care system who turns 18 and is no longer eligible for foster care services.
