JCYM Staff the Rodrock Foundation Christmas Celebration
On the evening of December 6, 2018, eighteen members of the Johnson County Young Matrons, under the leadership of Annette Burnsides, descended on the Barn at Ironwoods Park to staff the Rodrock Foundation Christmas Celebration for 250 foster children and their families. Besides the large Christmas tree already present the JCYM members brought a variety of Christmas decorations for the twenty-five tables. They decorated tables, helped to distribute donated shoes and coats to the foster young people, mastered the digital camera for pictures with Santa Clause, served the buffet dinner, as well as cleaning up the kitchen. After dinner there was caroling and sleigh rides for the guests.
The Rodrock Foundation is the newest JCYM philanthropy. Besides staffing the Christmas Celebration, other projects for the Foundation include organizing Care Baskets at the beginning of the school year and staffing a Graduation Party in May.
